Wheelchair Rugby Nepal
Wheelchair Rugby Nepal (WRN) is the governing body for the development and growth of the sport of wheelchair rugby in Nepal. WRN is dedicated to providing athletes with a disability the opportunity to participate and excel in wheelchair rugby, from grassroots to international competition, through our national team, “the Himalayan Gladiators”.
Wheelchair rugby is a fast-paced, mixed-gender sport open to athletes with an impairment affecting both their upper and lower limbs. It is the only full-contact sport played on wheels, combining elements of rugby, basketball, and handball. Teams of four compete on a hard court, aiming to carry the ball across the try line, with matches played in short, high-intensity quarters.
While the sport is only now emerging in Nepal, WRN was formed in [month, year] to build a pathway for para-athletes to access competitive team sport.
